Undefeated

Henry C. Clark 1906

The 1905 football team achieved Pomfret’s first undefeated, untied season in any sport. In the course of that campaign, the Red and the Black allowed their opponents only 16 points, while tallying 135 themselves.

“The football season is over and the school can look back over the record of the team only with a feeling of pride. The material was not exceptional in weight, experience, or any of the other qualities of successful team, and yet, we have achieved a measure of success never exceeded or even equaled by any other team the school has produced. Good spirit, coaching, leadership and the backing of the fellows have accomplished these results. Even more encouraging is the outlook for next year, for we will have the same system as this season, and above all, a record which every fellow will feel must be equaled.”
